A limited amount of boygenius photos exists because the collaboration between rising independent music stars Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus is still brand new.

Despite the fresh formation, the supergroup has been causing a stir on Twitter the last week or so after the release of their new music.

The trio of stars just makes sense. Both Baker and Dacus belong to Matador records and Baker herself has toured with Bridgers. Each artist has been making waves in the independent scene, with Bridgers making a name for herself and picking up serious steam on Soundcloud.

Each member will bring loads of talent to the table, but will their individual sounds work together? Baker’s music swells into an emotional gut punch. Bridgers has a distinct and recognizable folk sound that she has fused with modern indie pop on her track, “Motion Sickness.“As for Dacus, her powerful voice can hypnotize her listeners before they even realize what is being done.

These three are arguably the most talented songwriters in the independent music game at the moment and their ability to produce powerful lyrics should be a clash of welcoming dissonance worth buying into.
